I live in Fort Lauderdale and tried to call interenet dept at Ed Morse in Delray Beach. I even used a different name and had them as a referral through AutoBytel or one of those other car buying services online. They flat out told me when I called, "Hey, we don't get that many of these cars a month...we used to charge a premium over list price...now we're only charging full list". Now, I am buying an XLE Limited...so maybe they don't get that many a month...but I would never pay list or over list price for any car especially a minivan. I went to Maroone Toyota in Weston and Hollywood Toyota and was quoted $1500 and $1800 off full sticker (with a little work) but both gave me $1000 off with no work...as soon as I spoke to them. Ed Morse would never get my business and I would recommend anyone who's local here in Florida to not buy from them either. I wound up buying out of state anyway and as I've stated in previous posts got the van for $3800 off of list. Realize that even if you were to get the van at dealer invoice, they are still making 2% holdback and TMD and whosesale markup profit when combined comes out to about anywhere from $850 to $1100 (which they are entitled to). So when a dealer tries to charge list price, they are way out of line and probably figure that if they throw that number out at enough people, some will bite. There, now that is my 2 cents worth...

Hi, everyone I,m still looking for a dealer here in Indiana who is willing to sell me an XLE(gh)without me having to lose a body part that I may need to drive it with. I've been to several local dealers here in Indy all pretty much in collusion with each other when it comes to price. About six months ago it was $500 off sticker. Today it's $1,500 off. Not bad I guess but, that is still about $1,500 more than I want to pay. After all even with that the dealer was still going to make over $1,600 profit, perhaps more. I won't even get into the trade in that I had which kbb, nada, and black book all said my trade in value was around $3,300 more than one dealer's offer and $2,600 more than another. Anyone else getting this kind of crap from there area dealers? One salesman I met back in Aug. kept calling me several times since then saying he was getting more seinnas in and wanted me to come in for they were ready to deal price. Some price! About $ 6,400 profit for them when you include my trade in. Here is the kicker though, they had over six siennas on their lot covered with snow and even the slesman admitted that the one we were looking at had been there over two weeks. So I know they weren't flying off the lot like he told me earlier. I guess no sale/profit to them was better than a sale making some profit.

Hi Toyotaless1, Have you contacted Kokomo Toyota? They are dealing at approx 3% over invoice(Invoice + TDA that is). They had a couple of XLE's on their lot as of last week. This dealer was passed along to me by "Etalon". You may see some posts from him on this board.

Send me an email for more info, if you like.

APPRECIATE THE LEAD! I'll give kokomo toyota a call. If thats true then I'm on it. I've just been tired of dealing with arrogant sales staff who have cavalier attitudes. i.e.. (take it or leave it.) I certainly want them to make money thats why they're in business. However,It's clear that most have been taking advantage of the past shortages in supply. Glad supply is know catching up. I just don't want to be kicking myself for over paying now only to see better deals being had down the road. I also checked TDA on one web site for my area and it stated $585. I don't know how accurate that figure is for here in Indianapolis? I couldn't find much on TDA. I don't mind paying this either as long has it's reasonable.

See my post#3164 in this thread. If you do not plan on buying out of state, you will have a better chance checking out this particular dealer (Kokomo Toyota in central Indiana, about 75 minutes drive to the north of Indianapolis). You can easily get about $2500 discount off sticker, without any haggling. You may even do better than that if you are to buy one off their lot. When we went to pick up our van, I saw an XLE w/ pkg#14 in Actic Frost on their show room floor about two weeks ago.

Good luck with your purchase.

I am in the Philadelphia area and was able to get LE 7-pass with BW package and wireless headphones (MSRP $27,777) for $25,190 + tax and tags. I've been on this board for months now, and have found it invaluable, as I purchased from Motorworld in Wilkes-Barre and never would have heard of them if not for this board. Anyway, I sent a bunch of emails requesting prices and this was Motorworld's 2nd offer (1st offer was $25,690). All of the local dealers couldn't even come close, and one even told me I shouldn't pass this deal up if I could get it. I took a little bit of a hit on the trade, but I still think my out the door price was good and I love the van!

A magazine reporter is looking to interview automotive technophiles who have DVD players, MP3 players, satellite radio and/or surround systems in their cars and cannot wait for the next big thing to come so they can add it to their rolling entertainment centers.
Please respond no later than Wednesday, February 4 to jfallonedmunds.com with your daytime contact info, make/model of vehicle and a sense of the entertainment technology you have and aspire to own.
Thanks!

I will probably go with Autofair. They are checking on the same car for $250 over invoice and $121 application fee. Note that Autofair originally said $100 over invoice in email then when I called them they said price has raised to $250 over invoice....wish me luck
