Here's an update from the 2-4% deals referred to in in Post#1149 to bobby by dyh555 on Apr 18, 2003 (4:27 pm): Bennett Toyota ,Allentown,PA $850 above invoice They're still offering it. Del Toyota, Thorndale,PA: 2% above invoice Never heard from them. Calling the front desk, I got a sharpish receptionist, who said she cannot connect me to the internet manager. Pottstown Toyota,PA: 4% above invoice Got an email saying that they've stopped giving the 4% deal. Its MSRP now. -sr15 |

| I am interested to buy a Sienna Le, with the curtain air bag option. But it seems that only few LE with that option avaiable. Most of the LE has the Extra mile packet A/B cost about 700/1500. Can you please comments on the extra mile packages? are they worthy? My dealer told me that if I only want the LE with the package/option I need, I will have to wait 30-120 days. I can wait 30 days but not 120 days. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance | |

I am not singling out Central IL as Elmhurst Toyota won't budge. You are right..it's what the market is willing to bear. I decided to wait it out rather than get raked at MSRP...and that's coming from a former Saturn owner...rather than bear an extra profit at my expense. Regarding the 8 seater and package 7, I just confirmed our order today. Yes, you can order le8 with #7...at least via our distribution channel. |

I've just taken delivery of an XLE AWD. I didn't post before just in case there was a hitch at the dealer, such as some others seem to be experiencing. In fact I found the dealer in DeLand to be extremely pleasant to deal with. A tough negotiation, but once the deal was made there was no attempt to back pedal or add on extras ( other than a low key and very open sales pitch on extended warranty). These guys gave their word and kept it. About 5 weeks from negotiation to delivery with options exactly as desired. Van is XLE AWD with package #17 (leather/full air bags/sunshades & heated seats - though cooled seats would be better in Florida) MSRP including delivery fee is $34,885. Also added at my request a bug deflector, tow hitch and carpet mats, bringing MSRP to 35,607. Sticker also adds "Toyoguard" of $699 and "Dealer Services" of $500, both of which have some limited value. I paid $34,800, which is $800 to $2000 below MSRP depending on your valuation of the last two items. PS for info, it did not come with a moonroof, but does have a roofrack. |

| We have ordered an 8 seat LE with the bw or #7 package and the jbl 10 speaker stereo, we are just waiting for a delivery date. Hopefully there will be no glitches. I was under the impression that the upgraded stereo could be ordered as long as you were getting an option package. the stereo is a seperate option in addition to the #7. They make the option ordering system very difficult. | |

I ordered an LE with option #1. I was regretting not getting the #7. Guess what. The dealer just called to say they have an LE coming in my colors with #7 and it will be here in 2 weeks. Its now mine! Hot dog!!! (The car I ordered wasn't expected until the end of May.) The dealer did say that it is hard to find the LEs with #7. He was surprised that it was coming in. Bev |

Two years ago all people did was complain about having to pay MSRP for a Honda Odyssey. Now the Sienna buyers are on the bandwagon. : ) Mackabee |

If you read carefully, you will see that many are getting something off MSRP. Even if I didn't get anything off, it would still be worth my purchase. If I keep my current Chrysler van, I'd have to pay a lot of money to maintain it. Can't wait to get my Sienna!!! |

I posted a couple weeks ago about getting 1300 off MSRP from a SF Bay Area dealer. It was from the Internet Sales Manager from Dublin Toyota. At the time, I only had an agreement, so I said I'd post more as it got closer to finalizing. Originally, I was supposed to get a Red XLE w/ GJ/#16 (leather, DVD, moonroof, traction control, side air bags, heated seats, and a bunch of other stuff) and CF (floor mats $196 MSRP). It was coming from the factory and supposed to arrive May 15. MSRP was $35,511, and I was getting $34,211 plus tax and licenses. There was also another Red XLE w/ GJ/#16 available sooner, but it also had a bunch of other options I didn't want to pay for like N1 (auto dimming mirror - $199 MSRP) and Z1 (floor mats, cargo nets, first aid kit - $274 MSRP). The sales manager really wanted to book the sale this month, so he gave me the one with the N1 and Z1 for essentially the same price - $34,238. So I get the car about 3 weeks earlier with a few freebie options for $27 more. Savings now comes out to $1550 off MSRP. Everything has been a breeze so far, and I'm am anxious to take delivery next week. The Internet Sales Mgr was incredibly responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Very up front with details and best offers. I would gladly refer people to him. Other Bay Area dealers were either really slow to respond or evasive in quotes or not close to matching the deal I got at Dublin. If I worked harder, I may have been able to find a better deal, but I was fairly thorough over the course of about two days effort. So for the amount of work and time I've invested, I was happy to take this deal in a heartbeat. Now the questions ... I was handed off to a finance guy to complete the paperwork and hadn't done my homework as well here. Here's what was tacked on to the $34,238: $45 - document fee $268 - license fees $5 - California tire fees $2828.35 - California sales tax (ouch! wish I lived in Virginia or somewhere else with lower state sales tax) I have no idea if the license fee is reasonable and/or negotiable. The rest seem reasonable, especially since there's no TDA or other stuff that I've seen other people write/complain about. Also, I'm thinking about getting the 7yr/75k Platinum warranty. Dealer quoted $1300, but I think I would take it for closer to $1000. Four extra years of warranty on things like the DVD, sunroof, power doors and liftgate, heated seats, etc seems like it would pay off. Finally, I probably made the mistake of taking the maintenance pre-pay. 11 scheduled maintenance visits including 15K, 30K, and 45K for $1088 (discounted from $1299). The dealer showed me estimates of the 15K, 30K and 45K service alone, which came out to well over $1000. Since I regularly take our cars into the dealer for all scheduled maintenance, I figured with the oil changes and other visits, it would save money. Now that I've come home and read the articles and postings about the maintenance pre-pay, I'm thinking I shouldn't have. Or at least I should have negotiated it down further. I did call a couple dealers and get varying estimates of 30K service from $429 to $499. 45K service was in the mid to high $200s. Any advice here would be much appreciated. I did call the finance guy back and he pleasantly said we could revisit both the Platinum extended warranty and the pre-paid service when I go pick up the car next week. To be clear, this stuff has nothing to do with the Internet Sales Mgr. This is with the finance guy, who did not do any pressure sales of any of this stuff, but merely laid out these options and provided some cost/payoff comparisons. I have not placed any deposit and intend to pay in full at pickup. Though I signed the contract today, I am willing to make a big stink if they won't let me change my mind about the pre-paid service if it turns out not to be a good deal or if the license fees turn out to be excessive. I can't imagine they will want to lose the sale in what so far has been an excellent experience that will lead to many referrals. Sorry for the extremely long post. Hope some of it is helpful for others and hope I get some insight as well. |
