I still have not solved the 09 Ody Navigation issue here in Germany.

The Honda dealer here tells me that the German Hondas have a completely different system but the maps are still from NAVTEQ. That said, I am waiting for a discounted 2009 upgrade disc to come out for the Euro market on ebay.de, ebay.co.uk, etc. As far as I know any disc older than 2009 will not work, but I don't want to waste 300 euros to find out.

The second problem.. once you HAVE the 2009 disc for the euro market, it is region-coded for europe. The Honda Navi DVD drive under the seat (and the RES system by the way) are US region-coded (Region 1). So, once the Euro Navi DVD is in my hand, the first thing I plan to do is copy it onto a DVD-R/+R, code it as region 1, and pop it into the drive in the car. Who knows what will happen then??

Let me know if anybody has found a solution to this!! I am getting tired of driving around Germany with my TomTom sitting right next to my Navi screen on clock mode.

07 Ody Navigation will not switch to night by rdskns82

My 07 Odyssey's Navigation system will not switch to the black screen at night when programmed on the Auto setting. I can change it manually, but that a pain.

Anyone experiencing the same issue, or have suggestions to remedy the problem?

Thanks

I think it's also tied to the dash light brightness (adj with the trip knob/button). If the dash lights are turned all the way up it has the daytime nav screen. I recall having some issues with this at first as well. The trick was to turn the dash lights one notch off the brightest setting.

I have a 2000 Odyssey and the Nav system sometimes does not want to work. It give me a error message stating that the door is open or the dvd needs to be formatted or there is no dvd.

Any suggestions?
