| Wipers do not go to park when turned off. May stop partially up or even in vertical position. Take off the big cover on passenger side that covers the wiper motor ...then remove the plastic cover that shields the top of the motor. Spray WD-40 or any good lubricant over the metal plates and spring which are on top of the wiper motor drive shaft. Wiggle the blade arms some to distribute lubricant around. Wipers will now return to the proper park positon when turned off. This fixed the problem on my 2000 Venture. Old original grease dried up. | |

My 2001 Venture has started making a funny squealing sound when I am driving and I need to give it some gas to get up a hill or anytime it has to downshift and rev up a bit. Any suggestions on what this could be? It almost sound like the belt, when it's in Neutral and I rev it up it make an even louder sound. If it is indeed the belt.......is this a difficult job to change?

Replying to: jeddry (Apr 30, 2009 8:13 pm) Anyway, last year I had two of my pullies bearings go out. When they did they took out the belt and some wiring. Pull the belt off and manually feel all the pullies, and when I say all I do mean all. Give them a turn and wiggle them up and down to see if they have any play. The pullies are all generally easy to change. Also.....check your bottom crank pully and your alternator. The crank pully is made up of two metal parts bound together with a rubber piece between them. The rubber gets hard over time and the two metal parts start to separate. If they look misalligned at all you will do yourself a favor by changing it. Mine luckly just ate up a belt first. I have heard of the pully coming apart and really doing some damage to the van. You will need to go through the right side wheel well to change it. I have not changed the alternator yet. So I don't know what that entails yet.

Replying to: 442dude (Oct 30, 2008 5:44 pm) Man I sure hope you can help me out with this one. My 2001 Venture has started making a funny squealing sound when I am driving and I need to give it some gas to get up a hill or anytime it has to downshift and rev up a bit. Any suggestions on what this could be? I have just changed the belt and tensioner and still a loud squealing noise when it revs up. Any ideas? Could it be another pulley or water pump? regards, Stephen
