Re: Ordering a 330Ci Conv. for ED tomorrow.. by Car_man HOST
Mar 29, 2005 (4:20 am)
I'm jealous, love330conv. Not only are you getting a beautiful car, but you're also going to Europe to boot . In order to decide whether you would be better off leasing or financing this car, we need to take a look at this car's current lease program. BMW Financial Services' current base lease money factor for the 2005 BMW 330Ci is .00080. This factor is equivalent to an interest rate of around 1.92%. As you can see, the interest rate that you would be paying if you were to lease this car is significantly lower than the finance rate that you would have to pay. Even though you would have to pay BMW FS' acquisition fee of $625 if you were to lease, you may find that you would be better off leasing.

Other than the fact that you would be able to get an extra low purchase price for this car, I am not aware of any benefit that on receives for leasing through BMW's European Delivery program.

Re: Re: 2005 Subaru Legacy GT by Car_man HOST

Ahhh, I see you posted a later message containing the information that I asked for, Jason. OK, if you were to lease a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Sedan through its captive finance company right now for 36 months with 15,000 miles per year, its base lease money factor and residual value should be .00120 and 46%, respectively.

Re: Infinity M's by Car_man HOST

Still looking at Infinitis, huh, hpowders. Here is the info that you're looking for. If you were to lease a 2006 Infiniti M35 Sedan through IFS right now for 3 years with 12,000 miles per, its base lease money factor and residual value should be .00173 and 61%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical lease od a 2006 Infiniti M45 Sport should be .00175 and 61%.

Re: Re: Re: Lexus ES330 lease by Car_man HOST

You're very welcome, dlee3. I definitely would not say that Texas is a lease friendly state. Traditionally, balloon notes have been as popular as, or even more popular than leases in Texas because of how sales tax is calculated on leased vehicles there. Financing the ES 330 that you are interested in would be an alternative for you. Right now, Lexus is offering 4.26% financing for up to 5 years on this model.

Volvo C70 convertible by jimbojones
Mar 29, 2005 (4:28 am)
Car Man,

I see that the local Volvo dealer is hot to unload its remaining 04 C70 convertibles. The 04 C70 LPT model I am looking at has MSRP of $42,610 and an anticipated selling price of $34500. I would want a three year lease at 15k per year. What can I expect to pay and what are the money factors and residuals??? Can I do better on a final price given that Volvo is not making an 05 model??

Thanks.

Re: Re: Re: Leasing midsize SUVs in NJ - Response to 18230 by Car_man HOST
Mar 29, 2005 (4:31 am)
You're welcome, dguptaofnj. Let's calculate a lease payment on the MDX that you mentioned in your post. According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2005 Acura MDX Touring (no NAV or rear entertainment) with an MSRP of $40,295 and a selling price of $36,750 through American Honda Finance Corp. right now for 3 years with 15,000 miles per, its zero down, pre-tax monthly payment should be around $469. The fact that we are approaching the end of the month and the end of a quarter will probably work to your advantage when trying to negotiate an attractive selling price for this truck.

CarMan-

Would you be so kind as to confirm the current MF and residual for an 05 STS V8 leased for 36 months 15k per year are .00197 (or 4.75%) and 56%, respectively? Thanks again for all you do for folks on this forum.

Re: REQUEST - 2005 Buick Rendezvous lease data by Car_man HOST
Mar 29, 2005 (4:35 am)
You never specifically said so, but I guess that you are asking me to calculate a sample lease payment on this truck for you, coppamc. The problem with doing so is the selling price that you provided me with takes $3,750 in cash incentives into account. GM's normal customer cash incentives cannot be used on vehicles that are leased through GMAC. If you let me know what state you are in, I can tell you what cash incentives are currently available on leases of the 2005 Buick Rendezvous. Then you can adjust this truck's selling price and we can calculate an accurate lease payment on it.

No problem, seden. Thanks for the additional information. According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2005 Honda Accord EX-L without navigation with an MSRP of $25,515 and a selling price of $22,600 through American Honda Finance Corp. right now for 36 months with 15,000 miles per year, its zero down, pre-tax monthly payment should be around $300.

Re: Need a good lease! by Car_man HOST

Welcome kracker2k. Since you are new to the world of leasing, you definitely should check out the following informative articles that are available here at Edmunds.com prior to visiting any dealers: 10 Steps to Leasing a New Car and Calculate Your Own Lease Payment.

As far as inexpensive vehicles to lease go, the Saturn ION 1 Sedan lease that you mentioned in your post is the least expensive advertised lease payment that I have seen recently. You actually should be able to lease this car for less than the advertised payment because you qualify for GM's supplier purchase program. Other relatively inexpensive vehicles to lease would include the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Chevrolet Cobalt, Chevrolet Aveo, Volkswagen Golf, and even a base Subaru Impreza.
