#9779 of 10143 Local Shell and Mobil back up
by gagrice

Both our Shell and Mobil stations kicked up to $4.39 this last week. They got as low as $4.29. I got 3 gallons of diesel for my Kubota, $4.69 per. Premium was $4.55 and midgrade $4.49. Premium seems to be the best bargain these days.

and needed petrol for the truck. $3.70 for 87 octane at usual place. Funny, after driving the hybrid over there and come back here the truck felt to have a lot more power
- but then after a couple days power level returned to normal.

Prices leaking down to $3.63 here... and as an added bonus, ethanol has disappeared from a couple of stations and my mixed driving MPG has jumped from 30-31 up to 33-34.
The nasty stuff did finally manage to kill the gaskets on my one lawnmower though.

Regular is down to $3.79 here. Not driving for the holiday, but it's unusual to see the pump price fall on the start of summer driving season.

Now of course I haven't bought any gas for over two months (as has been noted earlier) but when my wife went down to the Social Security office to try and straighten a few things out (they were closed due to a water leak; she's still steaming) I told her if she needed gas there was a cheap Sunoco just up the road. She took me up on that and reported $3.51 for regular.

Cheap.
Ours went down another two cents to $3.77. Naturally we aren't driving anywhere for the holiday, but I may just go fill up the Subaru for the summer.
I could get it down to $3.57 if I could find 4 nickel off grocery coupons. But I don't have that many left - gave my mother-in-law some a week ago. Don't need $200 worth of ribs for the weekend either; you get a penny off for every $10 spent.

Now at $3.75 for rug; $3.79 for diesel. Glad I waited on the Subie.
Was out of town today and filled up for $3.57. Diesel out of town was still high at $3.77.

I'm home for three days and then hav eto go back until second week of July.
The first price I see when I get off the train as $3.43! Last I was out it was half a buck more than that.
Down here it is at $3.51 at a variety of stations.
