to an average of $2.76 for 87 octane. I was able to go to my #2 station to fill-up for $2.60 (both daily driver and car). Funny how I can go a few miles in one direction and get petrol almost 20 cents cheaper than going a couple miles in the opposite direction & pay more!! The closer stations and the ones on my work commute started the morning at $2.60 ~ $2.65 but ended at $2.76 on the way home.

The Gas City has E85 for $2.66, 87 octane for $2.76

One Speedway had one sign 87 octane for $2.759 with 89 octane for $2.859. Then on their other sign the prices were reversed.

It seems like 87 octane has shot up to around $2.49-2.52/gal, with 93 above $2.80 in these parts (Bowie, MD area).

Just this past Saturday (10/17), I had filled up the Intrepid for $2.369 (87)

Another 6 cents today to $2.63

Must have been that huge increase in demand or decrease in supply. Oh wait, neither of those things happened, silly me

That's what regular cost at the end of September too. It dropped .04 cents for a couple of weeks there but went back up.

It's not such a shock when they've been overcharging you for months on end already.

to $2.74 for my fillup yesterday, everyone else running $2.85 ~ $2.89 for 87 octane. City's at $3 or more for 87 octane.

Like pf_flyer said, what the heck is going on? Are things reversed now, demand is down so prices go up? Pre-Halloween rush? Too much rain? I really don't beleive it's just the dollar having a slight decrease in value as being the sole reason.

...my wife's Buick LaCrosse last night. Regular costs more than what premium did a month ago. Good thing I had a 5 cents off a gallon from Acme Markets from food shopping earlier that day! She has a tendency to run her car practically empty while I keep all my cars topped off.

Last time I filled my wife's LS400 at Costco on September 2nd the price was $3.05. I filled yesterday and premium was at $2.95. The old boat got 17.75 MPG on that tank of gas. Best vehicle we own for mileage.
