Not quite as good as South Jersey, but getting there...$2.17 for RUG at Kroger including a 10-cent discount for reward points.   And here's something I haven't seen in quite a while: the prices at Hess are $2.26 for 87, $2.34 for 89, and $2.40 for 93, just a 14-cent spread between regular and premium.

i paid 2.559 for RUG, not my regular station, which is less than i have been paying for quite while. the bad part is, the hand calculated mileage was quite a bit less than the car computer(-.6). usually it has been pretty close(+- .1).

Filled today in Evansville Indiana and the Shell station was up 10 cents from Monday. Paid $2.39 for RUG. Still at least 50 cents cheaper than CA. Just across the border in KY the price at Shell is $2.32. I will fill in KY when I take off on Friday. RUG = $2.29 Ultra = $2.55   Sunoco at Rhawn and Verree.

We had shrinking gas prices with occasional restorations to full price on Thursdays or Tuesdays. Some pleaces had gas at 2.09 a little north of Dayton and $2.17 in Dayton hot spot. Monday we had a jump to $2.39 everywhere (many stations were at $2.29 so that wasn't too drastic). Today I saw a station at $2.48.   Here in the Midwest we deal with big jumps followed by slowly shrinking prices with big jumps to get the price back to a good profit margin. I call them the Speedway bumps because Speedways are usually first to go up (owned by Marathon Oil). Replying to: imidazol97 (Oct 08, 2009 12:50 pm) I think the price jump here in Evansville is related to the Fall Festival. It is the second largest street fair in the USA next to Mardi gras. We were wandering through the back country of KY and RUG was as low as $2.27. Headed back home tomorrow. Will report gas prices in the Ozarks. Not going on any freeways. Will spend the whole day on US 60, going through the Ozarks. Mostly two lane and NO large cities. Replying to: explorerx4 (Oct 08, 2009 2:54 pm) We are enjoying the drive. 3400 miles with about 2100 left. We plan to be home in about a week. Hope the good gas prices hold. I expected $3 per gallon and 15 MPG. The average price so far is about $2.39 and we are averaging just over 18 MPG.
