This Really Stinks! by oldfarmer50

Here in upstate NY RUG jumped 8 cents overnight from $1.97 to $2.05. Wholesale gas jumped from a $1.04 to $1.30 this week. What's going on? Did a toilet overflow at a refinery somewhere and disrupt production?

High Prices in Washington by oldfarmer50

Recently a man in Richland WA pumped what he thought was $28 worth of gas at a self-service station and paid for it with his debit card. When he got home he had a message from the card company that he had overdrawn his debit card by 81 BILLION Dollars for the purchase.

Washington state must have raised the gas tax way up to force people to conserve.

Not sure what move prices are going to make but things are jumpy. The station I usually fill up at is still holding at $1.97, but a lot of other places are at $1.99. I paid $1.93 this morning at one place and saw $1.95 at another. Usually all these place are inlock step so there appears to be some confusion and uncertainty out there.

Same here. My fill-up today at the usual Jewel was less than last week $1.84 (but this was up 2 cents from Monday's price of $1.82). The prices on my route and by work at the Speedway, BP & Shell are at $1.90, $1.92, $1.90 respectively, an uptick from last week.

Haven't driven by Meijers so not sure what their prices have been lately.

was for $1.94 for 87 octane. Prices did increase by 10 cents over last week's fill-up for me, but are down from the week's high of $2.06 ($2.059). Most stations are still at the $2.06 mark. I did pass the station near me selling E85; it is only 10 cents cheaper than the 87 octane price of $1.95. Looking at my records from last year I paid $3.30/gal on March 14th!!

Last Thursday was in Benton Harbor, MI for a customer visit and prices there and in Indy were pretty much the same as here; a couple of spots had diesel for the same price as 87 octane.

Costco has regular for $1.70.

The majors mostly shake out like this:

$1.85 regular
$1.97 midgrade
$2.07 premium
$2.09 diesel (the differential keeps getting smaller here)

We've been hovering either side of $1.80 around here for several weeks now. The premium is doing the same thing with the $2 mark.
