I wonder if the next issue will be shortages to go along with rising gas prices. It sounds like the refineries aren't making any money with everyone driving less.

Just drove to the mall to get my wife her yearly Sees candy fix. Passed a Chevron. RUG was $2.29 and Diesel was $2.29. Those folks that bought the new VW TDI while D2 was high are now kickin' butt.

Cheapest RUG in SD is $2.11 and cheapest diesel is $2.15.

They have virtually converged. Lucky TDI owners !!!!!

Willcox, AZ, Doc's and Mustang and the two Circle K's are all competing for our RUG business, charging us $1.99/gal.

All of this talk of manipulation has got me thinking 2010 Pininfarina-Bollore B-Zero again. The Italian-French collabaration is coming to three U.S. test markets in 2009, one of them being L.A. My next point: Will the $7,500 Barack Obama rebate apply to this all-electric car? Has anyone else besides me even heard of this car would be my next question!

...oil refiners and marketers don't tell the truth; they're like Congress and bankers and tobacco executives...

Agreed. I'm actually amazed at how they can just lie with a straight face - they must be damn good at poker!! I just feel sorry for my television; I know it's getting tired of me yelling at it whenever I watch all these you-know-whats on the business channels. Between them, Asman, Cavuto and their cohorts I'm going to burst a blood-vessel!!

Yes I have and think it would be a practical EV for many people. I believe the $7500 tax credit should apply. If the B-zero has 16KWH of battery it will qualify for the full credit. I would love to see the whole $billion tax credit gone before the dweebs at GM launch their Volt. Trouble is getting past all the regulations will be tough for these small practical EVs.

I agree, the homogolation and crashtests, etc., are going to be huge for the B-Zero. Oh well, if the Smartcar can make it the 2010 Pininfarina-Bollore B-Zero can, too.

We're probably gonna hold with our 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS for a long, long while yet. It's a great compact car and I love it more now than when I bought it two years ago, exactly the date being 03/21/07.

Oh, ghastly is resting here at $1.99/gal for RUG...still. Here we're waiting for the next made-up reason for the oil industry and futures-traders to raise the ghastly prices to $2.75/gal for RUG.

Just topped off the Lexus at Costco. Premium $2.39 up 2 cents from yesterday. Most stations that sell diesel have it at the same price as RUG or Midgrade.

$2.39 is a typical diesel price at the majors here.

Regular has crept up to $1.89. I forgot to note the premium prices; probably $2.11 and getting close to parity with diesel.

was for $1.93 at my usual Jewels, which is now giving incentives if you use your Jewel's card - knocks a coupe cents off per gallon.

Overall we seem to be riding on the $1.94 or $1.99 coaster. The stations start at $1.94, then some rise to $1.99, then back down a couple days later to $1.94. Must be following this weather pattern we're going through.
