I smell a Rat by oldfarmer50

Gas here in upstate NY is inching closer to $2 for RUG again. I filled up with regular today $1.99.

I'm waiting for an explaination of why wholesale gas has gone up 35 cents in the last few weeks when crude oil prices are stable or actually going down. This smells like a rat I've smelt before. I thought this wasn't suppose to happen once "the oil man" left office.

Some times you make me roll on the floor laughing.....

I have wondered that same thing. I am sure there is an legitimate explanation. Maybe one of the ABC reporters will ask Obama... Or does he only give interviews to Al Jazeera?

A gallon of gas or a share of Ford stock?

Lots of people are paying $1.88, which is what Ford closed at today.

I filled up the van tonight for $1.76 RUG.

I'm paying $1.89 so Ford stock is really starting to look like a bargain

Gas in the York area has creeped up to $1.85-$1.89 for RUG.

Traveled to Ocean City, MD this weekend, gas ranged from $1.67 to $1.77. Saw a few cheaper ($1.57) on the drive home inland.

I agree with oldfarmer50. Something is not right about the higher gas prices with oil trading at $40 a barrel.

6 more cents to $1.95 this morning, and no "oil folks" in the White House to blame it on.

You're right, there seems to be a total disconnect with reality again. Crude oil going down, gas supplies up because our demand is down, yet the price rises. We need a leash for the speculators.

A leash? Surely they deserve more than that

I bought gas a week ago from this past Sunday, and then again this past Sunday. Same price both times.

from lonely 'ole Willcox, AZ. We're sitting at $1.88/gal for RUG here at Doc's. No station lower, a few higher, been at this price for days now. Y'all stop in, now, ya hear. And we do have an appliance store that services Maytag's, too.

was for $1.84 at the usual Jewel. It was a nice, crisp -18 degrees but we dogded the snow storm yesterday so can't complain. Other stations were in the $1.89 ~ 1.94 range (the higher range represent prices by work). These prices represent about a nickel drop from a couple days ago.

The Gas City still has E85 for $1.75 with 87 octane for $1.89.
