Replying to: andre1969 (Dec 22, 2008 12:05 pm) It will be a while before I need another car. I've got three cars that have over 120K each on them and run just fine. No sense getting rid of a basically free car that works. Fourth vehicle is teh van and that still has payments on it.

I don't drive it much myself, but have been letting my car-less roommate use it to get to work (about 5 miles away for him), and he's just been paying for gas and kicking in some for maintenance, insurance, etc. But when that car finally goes, if I get a new car, he sure as hell ain't driving it!

Since she put miles on a car and isn't the best about how she treats it (it's also her office...) I figure when that dies I'll just get a more recent equivalent. No sense subjecting a new car to all that unless her company suddenly decides on company cars... |

I was able to purchase fuel at my regular place last Thursday for $1.63. Though I could have went another day I figured it was best to do it then since a storm was hitting that night into Friday (we got hammered with snow/freezing rain then deep freeze). I wasn't looking at prices on Friday - trying to stay on the snow/ice-covered roads - but most places today were in the $1.75 ~ $1.79 range (still not complaining as it's better than $4.40!!). I'm figuring the mileage may drop a bit since I have the sand bags and added snow to the bed for more traction. Depending on my driving this week / next may have one more fill-up before the end of the year. Merry Christmas everyone |

RUG is going for $1.48 at BP stations on Hixson Pike... Anyone know what RUG is in Manassas, VA? I have a road trip this coming weekend to that part of VA to pick my son up for the New Year's holiday.. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...

I use our daytongasprices.com and then drag the map along the route we'll travel to see what the reported gas prices are. At the top of xxxgasprices.com is a box. Type in the letters and a flyout menu shows which areas gas price tables are available in. Manassas is one. After zooming out a certain amount instead of individual station prices the level of price is indicated by color. I stay zoomed in just enough so I see individual stations. I just checked from I71 Cincinnati to Louisville I65 to Nashville. The lowest price is $1.45 at Flying J near the TN/KY border.

| That was at a Shell that's usually a few cents higher than stations in other parts of town. | |
