The Parkway is only allowed to change prices once a week making those stations very undesirable when prices are dropping but very desirable when they are going up quickly.

Regular fell a few more cents this week at the majors. Add 12 cents to bump up to midgrade and another 12 to get to premium. And diesel was $2.55 at the Chevron where I noted the $1.53 regular. |

| Making a road trip to Pittsburgh and back today, so I'll have some pricing sightings later in the day! | |

Saw $1.459 yesterday. Lowest since about January 2004 here. Amazing. |

I've been checking www.marylandgasprices.com fairly regularly, and it looks like the drop has stalled out to around $1.45/gal for 87. However, with every passing day it seems like more stations are dropping down to the $1.45-$1.55 range. Still, I'll take it! I still remember the first time I had to fill up my 2000 Intrepid, back in November, 1999. That's when gas was just starting to shoot up in this area. Prior to that, we'd whine if it got above $1.15-$1.20! That first fill-up was $1.389 per gallon. Adjusted for inflation, that would be about $1.71 in 2007. The inflation calculator I used didn't have 2008 numbers yet, but if you figure 4-5%, that would put it up to $1.78-1.80. So at this point, I figure gasoline is costing me less in real dollars than it was 9 years ago. I can deal with that.
