Another nice surprise today. York, PA - RUG - $2.01 - $2.09 harrisburg area (west shore) is below $2. |

RUG was $2.24 at a local station at 6 AM by 9AM it was $2.22. Gas is now lower than at any time since Katrina. Some stations are down to $2.17. Also, in the Clearwater Florida area RUG is $2.14 At this rate I'll be drinking gas instead of beer and watering my lawn with the stuff. I've seen this pattern repeated several times. Prices skyrocket and then just when everybody is ready to take serious action to achieve energy independence, boom, the price goes down. Makes you wonder if this is just a game they play to empty our pockets from time to time.

By home prices are in the $2.18 ~ $2.20 range By work prices are in the $2.26 ~ $2.30 range Actually saw a $1.99 price at the Phillips 66, but that was the "with wash" price, without wash $2.17. The Mobil stations have been slow to lower prices. Do any of you think with the drop in prices people will be taking to the roads more over the holidays (Thanksgiving & Merry Christmas)? |

of sub-$2 gas in Maryland. Most of Laurel is in the $1.90-$1.99 range. That's about 7-8 miles north of me. Costco out in Beltsville is $1.91. Out in Millersville (about 15 miles NE, I'm seeing around $1.95-$2.00. Most of the really close places to me (Bowie, Glenn Dale, Greenbelt, Seabrook) are still running $2.15-$2.30. As for thanksgiving, I'm meeting up with my Granddad, and taking him to a big family get-together about 60 miles away. I would've done it even with $4.00/gal gas, but these cheaper prices will be a nice bonus.

Replying to: larsb (Nov 12, 2008 6:01 am) $2.152 Diesel down to $3.039 Phoenix is at $2.17. At this pace, $2 gas is here by November 22nd. |

Replying to: larsb (Nov 14, 2008 6:10 am) I cannot wait. I love it when my predictions come true. Though a big part of the country is already benefiting from sub $2 gas. I don't think we have caught up with refinery capacity on diesel. I doubt the demand dropped as much as it did for gas. Trucks kept delivering goods. Though construction use is way down, at least here in CA.

Replying to: gagrice (Nov 14, 2008 6:47 am) $2 is cheap enough. Having it at $1.50 means people will have justified rationalizations for wasting gas.
