Yep; still lots of Texaco's around. Price at the one that I drive by twice a day has held steady for about a week at $1.97/$2.07/$2.17 for 87/89/93 octane.

Actually I did figure that Texas would still have Texaco but they have become pretty much extinct up here. Actually we don't have much of their now parent Chevron either. Most of the Texacos have become Shell for some reason. All the Mobils and soon the Gettys are becoming the infamous Lukoil.

Where's a Flying A station when you really need it?

What's odd is that while I've HEARD of Lukoik, I've never seen one. And I've never heard of either Gettys or Flying A.....

Sometimes I think that NJ must be like a whole 'nuther planet....

As part of the ExxonMobil merger they had to spin off a load of Mobil stations in the Northeast. The Russian oil company Lukoil bought the lot of them. Right now they are selling refined middle east oil but will eventually go to using Russian oil.

Flying A was an ancient brand. There was only ever one station that I remember in our area. J. Paul Getty bought them up with some other things and that became Getty which, no doubt, is another strictly Northeastern brand. They are all over the place here. Lukoil owns them now but they haven't changed the names yet.

It is amusing having a Texan say that someone else is from another planet but I have difficulty denying the charge.

I guess that depends on how much of a yankee you are.

Gas prices are still high $2.16-$2.20 here in Dumas.

Amarillo, is $2.14-$2.30

Well, if we let some guy from Michigan in here, I'm sure that NJ is OK.

Besides, I'd think it was apparent if one were to drive through South Texas that we OBVIOUSLY don't require passports....

My favorite BP 93 is $2.39, while 87 is $2.09, the lowest premium difference, but still $0.30, by mixing up I save $1.40 for this fill.
