Replying to: ghulet (Oct 11, 2005 9:37 am) Citgo (IL62-IL25) - $2.61 Crystal Lake $2.78-2.84 Kane Co along Randall $2.78-2.87 In the past month (when the gas approached $3), Chicago and the suburbs seriously flattened out. However, the wide differences have started to reappear with prices in Chicago and the gas stations on the freeways (like Joliet) still remain pretty high. In general, I try to buy gas at one of the following sources to get the best prices (without driving a mile out of the way): IL-251 near Rockton (ourside of Rockford) Sam's Club - usually the last to raise prices. Costco generally matches SC a few days later - their usual "me too" strategy) Randall Rd (Kane/McHenry) - Albertsons/Safeway/Citgo is a perpetual gas war. Citgo at the intersection of IL-62 and IL-25 We ALWAYS fill up before heading into Cook County where the prices tend to be the highest. Wisconsin also tends to be higher. I am not saying that 0.30 price difference justifies a 25 mile drive to get gas BUT ... I will fill up sooner on cheaper gas. |

| Prices dropped three cents this afternoon at the Sunoco in my neighborhood. Regular is now $2.74. Super is below $3.00 for the first time in almost 2 months at $2.95. Ultra is still above at $3.02. | |
| State College, PA showing $2.59 for 87, $2.69 for 89 and $2.89 for 92 | |
| ...Regular is now $2.72 at the Sunoco on Verree and Rhawn in NE Philly. | |

$2.799 for 87 in central VA. I only half-filled the tank of my Frontier, which was running on empty, in the hope that prices would come down in the near future. The Camry is still running on pre-Rita gas.

My usual Sunoco truck stop, Palisades Park NJ 87 - $2.699 89 - $2.799 93 - $2.879 94 - $2.959 diesel - $2.779 Diesel getting its usual rise from winter mix and competition from home heating oil (same raw fuel as diesel), but still below the high watermark immediately after Katrina. kcram - Pickups Host |

Replying to: lemko (Oct 14, 2005 12:05 pm) But aren't you going to have to use the gas soon so it won't go bad? Or do you put stabilizer in the tank? Meanwhile, on the way home this evening, I saw that prices had finally dropped another 10 cents, to $2.699 for 87 at Sheetz and "Lowest Price." Citgo and Exxon nearby were still at $2.799, but not for long I suspect. |
