| I'm as frustrated as anyone with the way prices are determined, but the offices of the oil companies are not where the prices are set. The futures market is the place where these prices are being set. That seems to be the place where reasons are being found to run up prices. And it's been a while since anything but raw emotion has had an effect on the price. | |
| ...are at least 10 cents higher than the city. Curiously, South Philly prices are greater than the Northeast. | |
|
Up 2 cents here at the Chevron I patronize....for no particular reason than just a little more profiteering, I am certain. The market is broken, the trickle-downers need to realize it.

Replying to: fintail (Oct 04, 2005 7:31 am) And what do you propose the trickle-downers should do about it? Here's one solution: USE LESS GAS. What kind of mileage are you getting in your MB? 20mpg? |

"And what do you propose the trickle-downers should do about it? " I propose they do nothing, because I am a realist, and I know they will do nothing. Their pockets are the ones being lined. More supply side garbage. 20mpg in town is fine with me. I'd love to see the "market forces" we are lied to so perpetually that caused even this minimal price increase. Of course, the masses, who are going to have to pay more to enable further reverse socialism doled out to the greatest entitlement segment of society, are just not privy to such information. Defer! Conform! |

| We are not going into supply side economics here. Let's stick to the topics please. | |
| ...Central VA. My Frontier is down to half a tank; the Camry to 5/8. Can I ride it out this time before prices go back down? We'll see.... | |
| Still 2.999 for 87 regular....has stayed the same for a week since Sept 28th | |
|
Most stations have dropped 2 cents to 2.979 87 Reg 3.079 89 Mid 3.179 92/93 Prem |
