#10063 of 10145 Here's my current home town of Alamogordo, NM's best RUG deal for now... by iluvmysephia1

VALERO STORE 1296

657 S WHITE SANDS BLVD ALAMOGORDO, NM 88310

 $3.09

The oilfields are only about 150 miles east of here in the Hobbs and Lovington, NM area. And El Paso and the rest of Texas is only 90 miles south of here. So perhaps we're given a shipping break causing a lower ghastly price. Whatever the reason, I'll happily take it!

Afraid you're right.

The $4.79 price, yikes!!

Our diesel is up there as well. Seems any little uptick reported about the economy, whether true or false, makes petrol prices jump.

Sorry about that.

Yes, starting saving now!! Hope you don't have to use any tolls (I avoid them like the plague).

I hate toll roads. I used the 73 going into Orange CO, CA a few times when my dad was in the Hospital up there. It cost a buck and cut off 2 miles of the I5 to I405 heavy traffic. Coming back from visiting a few months ago we decided to take that route. The charge now is 5 bucks. And the traffic was just as heavy on it as the old way.

We put 5700 miles on the Sequoia going to Indiana in 2009. We avoided every toll road. Not that hard to do. We also skirted the big cities at least by 25-30 miles. Nice country roads are so much more relaxing and scenic than interstates and Freeways. We are planning another long road trip for this Spring. I think I have a good idea where to get the cheapest gas along the route we are taking.

does the price matter when stations are running out of gas?
We are supposed to get a blizzard tomorrow lasting into Saturday.
I was able to fill up with RUG 3.899.
A couple of hours later, my wife said the RUG pumps were shut off.

Oh, totally agree 100%!! I avoid the tolls like the plague; it's so easy & they really don't save time. Outside Chicago there is the I-355 extension that connects to I-80 from I-55. If you're already on I-355 you pay a huge toll to get on the extension and the further you go the more it costs to get off to where it's $4 to get onto I-80.

There's a lot of two-lanes by me and it's great driving. Been on many of the country roads in Indiana and the southeast, all great. Took a lot of great roads when I stayed in Belgium as well. Next time in CA will do the same.

#10071 of 10145 $4 gas comes to my 'hood! by lemko

Feb 15, 2013 (6:07 pm)

Sunoco at rhawn & Verree in NE Philly:

RUG - up 5 cents to $3.75!
Ultra - up 6 cents to $4.01!

Just had to fill my wife's LaCrosse. Drove 2 miles further where RUG still = $3.69. She has a nasty habit of running her car almost to empty whereas I keep my ride topped-off all the time!

#10072 of 10145 one station up a dime by steve_ HOST

Feb 15, 2013 (7:06 pm)

A Citgo went up to $3.89. Didn't look around at other stations to see if the rest followed suit. The Citgo didn't really need to bother; all the regular nozzles were out of order.

Diesel there was $4.24.
