My Prelude rolled over the 95,000 mile mark tonight! It still looks & runs wonderfully! I bought a project car:) A 1990 BMW 325iA Coupe. Red/Black...84,000 miles!

So, hopefully, you can hang on to it much longer than I could and make it a long term project car In general 1990-1991 BMW 3 series are very reliable. I had 2 friends drove those for over 10 years trouble free and the only thing they do is: Change oil and filter every 15K miles (non-synthetic) and both had over 150K when sold. |

is definitely an excuse to get another car. I love my Prelude! At the end of the month 4/27 it will be 6 years old and I have kind of been jonesing for something else. Dropping $950 on an 18 year old E30 made much more financial sense to me than spending somewhere in the mid to high $30K range for a new 1 series. I'm going to learn to do the maintenance and repairs on my E30 myself. I've got a Bentley manual on order. My first order of business will be to change the oil. Then I'll make my way down the laundry list. With so little miles on the E30 (I see people selling them on bimmefest & in ROUNDEL with well over 200K & 300K miles on them), I hope to drive it to work a few days a week and keep some miles off my Prelude.

| for the advice. I'm definitely going to make sure the car is mechanically sound before I start to drive it on a regular basis. Driving the car home 15 miles (on the highway no less) was definitely an adventure. | |

to my car! My '01 Prelude Type SH has been mine for 6 years! Current mileage on the odometer is 95,899. It is still as tight and fun to drive as the day I picked it up (4/27/02). I'm hoping to get many more years and miles out of it! I really started to take it easy (shifting between 2500 & 3000 RPM & setting the cruise at 60 mph when possible) as far as driving goes with gas going up seemingly every other day. I paid $4.02 a gallon for Sunoco 91 tonight. Mileage on my last tank was 25 mpg. |

If you are driving as you described, I am wondering why you only get 25MPG - Unless you have a lot of city stop & go traffic. I still take it to VTEC range about once or twice a week and shift at a similar RPM and my mileage has been consistantly in 28-30MPG. Is that the SH use more gas (The weight difference is so small and the ATTS unit itself can't taking more than 1% of the engine's output while not hard cornering). So tell me either you drive more in the city or your car may need some tune up..... |

| I usually get between 22 & 23 mpg on my 6 day a week commute. The First Mile and Last Mile of my commute are city driving with very heavy stop & go traffic (when I get to work & getting back to the highway), plus there are places along the route where traffic backs up for various reasons. The only day I can set the cruise & not stop is Saturday. On the weekend, we also have my wife & son & his gear in the car. | |

I hit 97,000 miles the other day and hit a huge POTHOLE this morning on my way to work. I didn't get a flat or crack a rim, but got a bubble in the side of my right front tire. No problem, just order 2 new Yokohama AVS ES100 tires for the front of my Prelude right? Wrong! The AVS ES100s have been discontinued. So I have to replace all four tires. Well, I don't have to, but it would drive me nuts to look at my car every day with 2 different kinds of tires on it. I'm going with another set of Yokohamas, S.drive. I'll let everyone know what I think. That is, if there's anybody else out there listening to me |
