Is that the bronze-looking color? Saw one of those last year, but thought it looked too much like rust. Definitely unique, though.   -juice

rust? the Special Edition for 2000 and 2001 was one color. sort of a reddish purple in 2000, can't remember last year's offhand...   this year they get two colors and one of them is a bright yellow.   if you're thinking of a rust color was that evolution orange? that was an LS color.   -Colin

Does anyone know if a Miata can be towed flat behind a motorhome? Have the motorhome and would love to get a Miata for a tow vehicle. Replies to this message: bcameron2008 (Apr 14, 2006 6:36 am)

You can't safely flat tow a Miata. The tranny won't get propper lubrication & it'll fry. I guess it would be possible to tow one a short distance without hurting it though.   Chuck

I've seen a lot of stuff that isn't safe to tow rolling behind a motorhome.   The "best" was a previous generation Escalade behind a turbo diesel 40' home. Obviously, the owner has enough money to replace the drivetrain bits when they fail prematurely...   -Colin

Do you have to drain the coolant from the engine in order to replace the heater and heater bypass hoses on a 1992 Miata? How much coolant will flood out when I pull the old hoses off? Also, I bought front brake pads from Mazda that I will have installed. Do I have to have the rotors resurfaced if everything is presently working very smoothly? I'm reluctant to "sand off" perfectly good rotor material if I don"t need to.
